Valentines Day Table Centerpiece

Each year our church, Elm Grove Community Church, puts on a wonderful marriage conference. I love how our congregation is wise enough to invest into the marriages in our community. Every year, I'm in charge of the Caesar Salad and some of the decorating. I usually dress the tables for the amazing food we serve before the conference. If you've never been......attending just for the food would make it worth your trip. You don't have to attend our church to attend the yearly conference. This year, we had around eighty attend the conference and it was a great time. Here's my ticket: Our  menu this year: Valentines 2018 Dinner Filet Mignon 8 oz. Baked Potatoes (Loaded!) Caesar Salad with Garlic Croutons

I make this Caesar Salad often and most recently made it for our church's annual marriage conference . I've been making this for many years and its origin has a special place in my heart. Back in my days of 'holding hands', a beautiful woman gave me her handwritten Caesar Salad Dressing recipe.  Bertie Foster was a client of mine for many years when I had my nail business. We shared stories, memories and even recipes, while holding hands. Here is the recipe card she shared with me. Side note for Millennials: Recipe cards are how we shared our recipes with one another before the interweb. :) Handwritten recipe cards are so special and I cherish them. What You'll Need for Salad Dressing: 1 Clove Garlic, Chopped 1/2 Cup Parmesan Cheese 1/2 Cup Olive Oil 1 Egg 1 T. Lea & Perrin 2-3 T. Lemon Juice 1/2 t. Salt 1/2 t. Black Pepper Blend all ingredients in blender until creamy.  What You'll Need for Garlic Croutons: 1 Pack...

Strawberry Cheesecake Bites for Love Day

Valentines Day is one of my best holidays. The entire world needs a whole lot more loving everyday. Spread the love around and be kind to everyone, especially the ones who don't deserve it.

Juicing: Transform Your Health

Juicing offers many life enhancing health benefits including a faster, more effective way to absorb immune boosting nutrients naturally found in fruits and vegetables. It provides a way to access digestive enzymes typically locked away in the fiber matrix of whole fruits and vegetables.

Tasty Maple Granola Bark

Artic air has hit the Morgan Family Farm. Subzero wind gusts come sweeping down the plains of Oklahoma. With the cold air comes freezing water. All the critters on the farm still need a drink and something to eat. Anybody who knows even a little about farm life, is familiar with breaking the ice for the animals in the winter. The farm is a beautiful place to live, but their is a cost.  Besides the endless icebreaking, there is another, even more important, chore on the farm....tending to the fire. My Billy and I heat our home with a woodstove. Cutting, stacking and burning firewood is one way we save on heating. Besides there is nothing better than warming up to a fire after breaking ice.  The morning chores are such a busy time for us that cooking a large breakfast isn't always reasonable. I bake up a batch of this yummy maple granola bark and eat it on the go. You can eat it with milk as a cereal or my favorite.......inside a cup of yogurt.  W...

A Sepical Family Tradition: Christmas Sugar Cookies

Every year, since I can remember, I've made these sugar cookies at Christmas time. My sons and I have so many memories with these sugar cookies. My boys liked them so much when they were little, I made them their own sugar cookie Christmas tree. Their sugar cookie Christmas tree had individually wrapped sugar cookies hung all over the tree. It really was special. Each year, we would bake and decorate them together. Well Bryan baked and Hoy taste tested. When my Bryan got older, he started making them with his family. Pictured below, is Bryan when he was eight years old, making Christmas sugar cookies. This photo had become so popular within our family his wife recaptured it for me when he was forty. That's why I love cooking. There are so many memories around the food we cook and enjoy with our loved ones. Precious memories I cherish and keep close inside my heart.  Let's get to recipe, before I have to get the tissue out.  What You Need: 3 Cup...

Cheese & Bacon Flavored Dog Treats

Even our babies live extravagantly on the Morgan Family Farm. I home make their treats for them and they love me so.  Did I mention, these treats have been tasted by our cowboy friend, while visiting the farm? He says they're tasty. We shared one of these dog treats with his dog named 'Girl Dog', but not before he'd popped one in his mouth. "Wow! How was it?", I asked. "I don't feed my dogs anything I don't eat." he seriously replied. It's always a good time on the farm.
